11 platforms tested · scored for med spas · July 3, 2026

The best software for med spas.

Med spas carry protected health data, injectable consents and membership billing — needs a plain booking app can’t meet. We re-weighted our hands-on scores for charting, HIPAA-aware handling, deposits and recurring revenue.

What matters most for a med spa

Charting & consent forms

Clinical notes, before/after photos and e-signed consents attached to each client record — not a separate paper binder.

HIPAA-aware handling

A signed Business Associate Agreement, access controls and audit logs so protected health info stays compliant.

Deposits & no-shows

Card-on-file and larger deposits on injectables and laser blocks, with automatic fees when clients cancel late.

Memberships & packages

Recurring memberships, prepaid packages and series tracking that keep monthly revenue predictable.

Med spa software questions

Which med spa software is HIPAA-compliant?

No booking app is “HIPAA-compliant” on its own — compliance depends on how you configure and use it. What you need is a vendor that will sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) and offers access controls and audit logs. Mangomint, Boulevard and Zenoti will sign a BAA and keep consents and charts inside the client record; lighter booking apps generally won’t. Always confirm the current BAA in writing.

Can these platforms store charting, consent forms and before/after photos?

Yes — Mangomint, Boulevard and Zenoti attach digital intake, e-signed consents, treatment notes and photos to each client. Vagaro handles forms too. Generalist booking apps often push you to a separate forms tool, which splits the record and slows every visit.

How much should a med spa charge as a deposit?

For injectables, laser packages and long blocks, the med spas we studied take roughly 20–50% upfront or hold a card on file, recovering about 70% of otherwise-lost no-show revenue. Run your own numbers →
